FAQs
Please see below for some frequently asked questions. Feel free to contact me if you have any other queries.
Q: Will I definitely be able to have online counselling?
A: Webcam counselling is suitable for most people. However if you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, face-face counselling is more appropriate.
Q: What do I need to access webcam counselling?
A: You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone with a camera and a secure email account that I can send session details to.
Q: How will I know if you are the right counsellor for me?
A: The relationship we establish will be critical to the success of any counselling. I offer a free 30 minute session so that we can meet either on the phone or webcam and get a feel for whether we would be a "fit". I will check in regularly with you during the counselling as to how you think things are going, and would encourage you to be open with me so that we can make this the most effective process possible for you.
Q: What about confidentiality?
A: It is important that you have an email account that is only accessible by you for me to send meeting invitations to, and for you to be able to find a safe space for our sessions where you cannot be overheard. Sessions are conducted via Zoom, which is a secure, encrypted online meeting service.
